Football Lamp
Football season is here, so it’s the perfect time to dress up the den, man cave, or your young football fans bedroom.

STEPSUnscrew the top of your lamp to remove the socket. Give it a little yank and you should reveal the wires. Take a pair of scissors and ship them right below the socket.
Take a look at your ball and decide just how you want it to sit on your lamp. For the soccer ball, I wanted it centered. For the football, I thought an angle would be nice. Holding it up to your pole lamp, decide where the pole will enter and exit the ball and mark with a pin. Now with the utility knife, make a slit in the ball at each mark. The ball will have a rubber liner inside, make sure you cut through that as well.
Insert the lamp pole into the bottom slit ...
...and out through the top. Make sure you’re going through the liner as well.
Now position the ball where you want it, making sure the cord is in the back.
Now, I’ve made a few of these and sometimes the balls hold their shape, and sometimes they collapse. If yours holds its shape and it’s not going to be handled a lot, skip foam. If yours is now all soft and squishy, you’ll want to do the next step...
Take the insulation foam, give it a good shaking, and insert the nozzle into the ball making sure it’s inside the liner. Now give the can a good squirt. The foam is going to expand a lot, so you don’t want to over fill it.
Let the foam sit and expand over night. In the morning you ant or may not have extra foam seeping out of the cracks in the ball. If you do, simply break off the dry foam and clean up any bits with a utility knife.
Now, strip the top inch of each of the wires coming out of the lamp. Take your replacement socket and attach it to the ends. Just follow the instructions on the package (it’s really as easy as wrapping the wires around two screws and tightening them).
Add your lamp shade, a bulb, and put the nachos on the table!!
