Best Little Spirits Shop
Last weekend after grabbing a quick bite to eat in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles (which later I found had been recently anointed the hippest neighborhood in the US), I decided I would go on a little treasure hunt for a house warming gift for our host on Home Made Simple, Paige Davis. This neighborhood is just my cup of tea, still kind of run down, lots of little coffee shops and vintage boutiques that sell 4 hand made cards and an old shoe horn - you know the type. Well, anyway, I stumbled on what might be my new favorite store. Half liquor store and half vintage shop, it's any bourbon lover's (you know who you are) dream. They specialize in "small-batch" and "small production" spirits and booze (if you want to know the difference, you'll have to ask them). They also have an amazing collection of vintage bar ware, shakers, glass sets and all sorts of nifty things. I ended up with a extra tall cut glass martini shaker with a bright red top - not bad for $45.00! If you happen to be wandering the streets with the hipsters of Silverlake - check it out.
