DIY Photo Decal Wall

Displaying family photos can be a bit of a challenge.  How to display them without it being a cluttered, dusty collection of mismatched frames on the piano....yes, that is the questions!  In this Saturday's episode of Home Made Simple I tackle the problem with the use of oversized decals which turned a wall of cabinets into a personalized gallery. The steps were easy:1. Take a high resolution digital photo of your family photo.2. Email or bring it to a local print shop.3. Have them print it on an oversized translucent decal.  I chose to have them all printed in sepia tone.4. Carefully peel and stick the decal in the desired locations. For the Pierce family I kept the doors that were getting the decals the off white color that they were already painted.  I had the photos printed in translucent sepia tones so the off white and some of the grain of the wood showed through.  Since they were on cabinet doors, I used an utility knife to slice the decals in half to align with the door openings.  Here's what the walled looked like before:To see more details on the show and the room, please tune in Saturday at 9a/8c to Home Made Simple on OWN or visit www.HomeMadeSImple.com.
